This flower looks like a dogwood, maybe, or a jonquil. It has a center section that "poufs" out with ch-5 "fur" in the central spiral section.

With a #2 steel hook and two colors of #10 bedspread cotton (center color A and petal color B)

In center color A:

Chain 2

Row 1: 10 sc in 2nd chain from hook

Row 2: 2 sc in each sc (20 sc)

Row 3: In FRONT LOOPS ONLY (FLO), in EACH sc of previous round, * ch 5, sc, ch 3, sc * (repeat around) As you work, push the chain-5 "poufs" out to the front side -- the side that you're doing the FLO's in.

Finish off.

In petal color B:

Petal Row 1: Change to petal color. Flip the center around, so the unused back loops become the new "front" loops. SC in each FLO (unused, previously back loop) of each sc around. (20 sc) (This row makes the center color loops stand up)

Petal Row 2: *Sc, chain 7, skip one space, sc, sc * around. (So 5 repeats from * to * around the flower)

Petal Row 3: Working in the loops (the chain 7 loops) only: *2 dc, 2 hdc, 3 sc, 2 hdc, 2 dc in each loop* around.

Finish off.
