This bracelet uses somewhat freeform garnet beads. The red doesn't show as much as I'd like in the scan.

The pattern for this used increasing single crochets to fan out from the clasp. The repeat for the body of the piece is:

dc, dc, ch, long beaded sc, ch, dc, dc

I like the chains on both sides of the bead, as they give the bead room to breathe.

The long beaded single crochet is a normal beaded single crochet, but the hook is held even with the double crochets.

Since I put a bead in the "front" of one row, and the "back" of the next row, the bead went on in different stages of the sc. All I can say is: I faked it, you can too!
